San Juan Surf Site

My picture for this week was taken last summer, 26 May 2008 to be exact. It was actually nearing sunset, and brother and I visited daddy’s grave first before going here. He just wanted to show it to me because most of the time we were in San Juan, La Union, I would always question why it’s hailed as “Surf Capital of the North,” yet I am not seeing the surfers! Turns out, the surf site is located on a different part of the long beach line.

The tide wasn’t that strong that time, but there were still some surfers on location. My brother and I were more of aiming to take the shot of the sunset, so we were a bit far from the surfers. There’s this super duper chunk of stone that we needed to walk on to be a bit near to the sun. The sunset was also the cause why this picture was a bit brownish.

Brother promised me we would stay longer the next time we go there. There will be a surfing festival towards the end of October or early November, if my schedule would permit it, I think I will go check it out.
