Brother just bought his copies of his favorite cooking magazines - Food Magazine and Yummy Magazine, and in one of the pages of Food Magazine, this very interesting advert caught my attention. And why not? Quezon City mayor Sonny Belmonte wearing chef’s uniform? Hmmmm….
In celebration for Quezon City day this month, the city will give way to one gastronomic event that will last for three days called “QC Na! Kulinarya, Talento, abtp.” that will feature demonstrations, competitions, and benefit dinner. I called the events organizer - Stram, Inc. and they graciously told me some of the events that will happen on each day.
The event will start on the 22nd with competitions in the amateur level. On that day as well, there will be a fashion show followed by a benefit dinner cooked by some of the renowned chefs in the country. The competitions continue the next day, this time for the professionals. On the last day, there will be demonstrations including table setup and food styling among others. Food business opportunities will also be tackled on this day.
This event will be held on the 3rd level (Trade Hall) of the Gateway Mall in Cubao, Quezon City. It’s open to the public, except the fashion show and benefit dinner. If you want to be part of that, you have to buy a ticket worth 1500 pesos. A bit expensive, but one must remember that this is a benefit dinner and that top chefs will cook the food. If you want to know more, you can call the organizer at (02)9277208 or 9276206.
I already talked to brother about this and he’s more than willing to check out the event. He told me we will go on the last day, but I really don’t want to miss the competitions, so even if he doesn’t come with me on the first and second day, I will surely watch the competitions. I am expecting Iron Chef…. hmmmm….
The free-for-all events will start at 11AM and will last until 5PM. Perfect! If you’ll check out the events, hope to see you there! The image in this post was scanned from Food Magazine - August 2008 issue.
