Fish Spa

The Manila Ocean Park album contained 158 pictures and I used up all of my time today to resize and name stamp all the pictures, so I decided to post more pictures from it for this day. Yes, this will be another “Wordy Wednesday” post, I just cannot help not to tell something about the pictures.

When I still haven’t checked the park, all I did was to search for it on the net so when it’s my turn, I already know what to expect and which places to check (I love spoilers). At first, I thought this spa is for free, so I was a bit surprised that there’s a fee in order to experience it. Mom has no qualms about it, after all, Uncle Pete paid for our main entrance tickets.

The whole fish spa experience last 20 minutes, so if you got there in a middle of a session, you have to wait until everyone in the space finished their turn before you take your seat. Sis and I wanted to seat on that space overlooking the MFHRI and Manila Hotel, but the staff of the spa decides where you will seat. Oh well…

As soon as we took our seat, I got a little sad because no fish come our way. I got a sadder when the fish were coming on sister’s way? Why are they like that?

*** Sister’s feet ***

She told me that I have to elevate my feet a little so the fish would go at the bottom of my feet (is it called the sole?) because that’s where the dead skin cells are mostly located. I followed her and then the fish started coming my way.

*** My feet. Hahaha, sorry, my legs got scars ***

These little fishes (tell me, is “fishes” a word?) love eating the dead skin cells, and once they start nibbling, you’ll feel as if your feet tickles and itches. If you want to have more fish in your feet, just stay put and please don’t sit next to the water filter because that’s where water is unstable and the fish didn’t like any sudden movements.

Mom wasn’t still, so she had the fewest fish on her feet. But, as she saw our feet get swamped by the fish, she sat next to me so she could share some of the fish. However, a cute little kid sat near her, and of course being a kid, she did lots of movements causing the fish to run away instead of going to mom’s feet. Aside from that, the kid’s movements make my mom’s leg wet. Mom tried to talk to the kid, but as a sweetheart as she looked, she actually talked back to mom saying that my mom didn’t pull up her pants good that’s why she’s getting wet. Oh wow. Are kids nowadays like that already?

I guess if you want your kids to experience it, the parents should also pay for their own ticket and be with their kids. What’s the point of waving outside while your kid was trying to understand what the heck was she doing there. Hahahaha! Anyway, the three of us loved the experience, and when the 20 minutes were up, we felt as if our feet were so clean!

The spa provides free towel, so it’s a good incentive to the 120 pesos ticket. We also hoped to check the other attraction, but our companions didn’t really go to the fish spa so we rushed ourselves to meet them in Chowking to eat lunch.

I recommend everyone to experience this when you go to the Ocean Park. You’ll love it, too, I promise!
