It was cloudy, it rained all day, yet us three girls (mom, sis, and I) still went to the mall to enjoy each others’ companies. At that day, I thought that the Yummy Magazine event was scheduled on this day, and I was sad thinking I would miss it, so mom suggested we all go to the mall. My mom’s so sweet, eh? Actually, the reason she suggested it is so that we could do grocery shopping and she would need some extra hands to carry the bags. =)

We went shopping for some footwear and some clothing accessories for sister. I got to buy a nice pair of brown slippers / sandals and it was very comfortable. Sister was hoping mom would buy her a pair of Skechers shoes, but I was there to prevent that — I think the shoes were just vanity for my sister. Anyway, she was a bit disappointed about it, but I was happy she recovered right away. I really thought she would have a long face until we do the grocery shopping. =) After the grocery shopping (I carried the two heaviest bags, of course), we decided to eat snacks. As usual, mom’s vote will always be Jollibee, but sister suggested we eat elsewhere. We decided to eat at Chef d’Angelo.

I agreed to the idea because I have had this snapshot of the facade from months ago (the photo of the facade was taken by my cell phone last May — when I thought we were gonna eat at the place that time), and I didn’t want it to go to waste. Besides, it has been quite some time since we last ate here, and I was starting to miss their food.

I ordered a different dish today - the classic carbonara. I was supposed to order spaghetti with beer sausage, but the crew said it was red sauce based, and I didn’t like the red sauce here because it had some herbs that I personally didn’t like. I prefer their white sauces more, so even if I am not in the mood for some carbonara, I still went with it. This plate cost about 125 pesos and is good for 2 actually, but obviously, it’s just good for me. I found the taste really good. This was the first time I eat a carbonara dish with green peas, and it did give a whole new taste to the dish. The bacon wasn’t dried as well, perfect for my preference.

Mom ordered the usual meal when we’re here - the chef’s platter 2 - which has spaghetti (choice of white or red sauce), a slice of sweet porky pizza, and a piece of big bird’s fried chicken. For 120 pesos, this meal is the best deal in the menu. I used to order this one, too, because it already had everything, but I found it too heavy to the tummy, and that I already planned to blog about this, so if mom ordered this and I ordered the same dish, then it narrowed the scope of my entry, right? =) Their sweet porky pizza is really good!

Sister ordered her favorite baked ziti. I had a taste of it, and it interested me because it seemed to have mozzarella cheese in it. As I scoop a forkful of pasta, there were some strings of cheese and it tasted like mozzarella, but I am not sure because I only had a taste of it. This one cost a bit more expensive than the one I ordered, but still affordable for me. Sister said she liked this dish among the dishes she has tasted here because the mix of the white and the red sauces just bursts with so much flavors that she personally loved.

I don’t know when we will come back here, but for sure we will. The dishes are really worth every peso spend. Their iced tea (strawberry or raspberry flavored, I believe) is something I also loved. I tried the green tea, and it tasted wonderful as well! If only mom would love to eat here always…
