Place: Burger King (E. Rodriguez Avenue, Quezon City)
Date: 03 August 2008

Last week, I received an e-mail from Yehey! telling they have another bloggers’ event, this time for Burger King. Of course, who am I to pass up such wonderful opportunity? Luckily, I was one of the 50 bloggers who will take part of the event. I initially chose the Trinoma branch, but later chose E. Rodriguez branch when I was informed that the Trinoma branch is no longer available. The date to visit the branch was yesterday, and although I had the privilege to bring three people for the treat, I was only able to tag along my mom and brother because sister was still in her field trip.

We all have scheduled appointments after lunch, so we decided to drop by the branch the earliest time we can. We reached the place around 10AM, and at first there were confusions, but in the end the gracious store manager told me my privileges. He said that I have free meal. I told him that it was said in the ad that I am with my family and he said they also get a free meal. Hmmm…. my eyes suddenly lit up!

Me: So I really get to have a free meal?
Manager: Yup!
Me: So what’s the scope of the “free meal?”
Manager: You can order anything you want.
Me: Even if I order everything in the menu? (Smiling from ear to ear)
Manager: Even if you order everything.

I asked the manager what he recommends me to eat. He and the cashier suggested I order the Steakhouse Burger, which is their most expensive burger that cost 185 pesos with fries and drink. I got interested with the 100% Angus Beef patty, so I ordered a meal for me and brother. I chose the Whopper meal for mom because I wanted her to taste my favorite burger. To accompany the meal, I ordered desserts and side dishes.

When the foods were served, I told mom that all in all, the treat cost 870 pesos (rounded off). At first mom was trying to compare and compute the damages, and we had a little conflict because we were already given a free treat and she seems not contented about it. But she said it was just a joke, she was just trying to be sarcastic.

We had a pleasurable feast. The food were all so good, and it was even greater when you’re with your family to share it with. My mom was sarcastic at first, yet towards the middle of the feast, she was already starting to complain that she can no longer finish the meal. Well, my mom’s really like that — she gets so excited with food at first, yet the truth is, she can only eat a few.

This may be a fast food, but they really take care of their customers! They were very friendly and courteous, and they answer all my questions with a smile on their faces. One staff even asked me how I was able to get the free treat, and it was like talking to a good friend!

Part of the royal treatment each customer gets in all Burger King establishments include: free cell phone charging, free gadgets (PSP, iPod, etc) charging, and free reading of newspapers. Aside from that, they also show movies, and that they offer free WiFi connection. But the most unique and possibly the best part of the Burger King experience would have to be the massage! My mom said they had a staff that asked her if she wanted to have a massage, but the food just got delivered, so she turned it down. I would want to experience it, but apart from the fact that we were eating, the massuese was giving other customers a massage.

Burger King

This establishment really lives up to their “Have it Your Way” slogan, because before we left, I asked if I could stand behind the counter and see through the cashier’s eyes, and they graciously allowed me to go behind the counter. Aside from that, I also took a good peek of their kitchen, and oh wow! So clean kitchen! Everything was in order, and their kitchen counters are spotless! For sure I will eat there again!

To Burger King and Yehey!, thank you so much for the opportunity. I will never forget the experience.

Oh… how could I forget a parting shot:

Burger King

Now that’s a burger king!
