Place: Bangui Windmills (Bangui, Ilocos Norte)
Date: 25 May 2008

Next town after Pagudpud is Bangui. We were travelling the road when rain started pouring. All the more I got sad and frustrated because we were supposed to check the windmills, and because of the heavy rains, we all might just carry on travelling!

My Uncle Caesar (dad’s younger brother) lives in Bangui, and Aunt Julie had to give him something so he met us up by the highway. He looked so old now, because of his illness. He has heart problems, too, and had stroke already, so when dad died, he was the one who cried the loudest because he had been so sick long before dad was diagnosed to have Myocardial Infarction. He really thought he would die first before dad, so the thought stressed him a lot! Anyway, Aunt Julie just gave him some medicines and some foods for his “grandchild.” Good thing the rain stopped by the time we reached his place, so that would mean we could check out the windmills!

However, it’s just another viewdeck thing. They can no longer afford to lose much time, so the viewdeck is all for us for this trip. Oh well…

There were a few rainshowers when we reached the viewdeck and the clouds were covering the windmills, so I would say that the trip was a bit of a disaster. It was hard to have a picture taken with it on the background because the clouds were all you can see in the picture. I tried zooming in on the windmills, and they can be seen, but because the windmills were white, it’s a bit difficult to get a clear visual of the windmills.

I texted my friend Claire who lives in Laoag (capital city of Ilocos Norte) and she said that it normally rains in this part of the province. I felt so bad about that because my brother also went to the place in April (or was it early May) and he got clear blue skies! So unfair! Hehehehe! I told brother about the experience and he said that maybe it was good that the clouds were covering the windmills because if the skies were clear and my companions had no plans of going near the windmills, then I’d end up more frustrated. He had a point.

Better luck next time, Jenn!
