Discussion on process conditions control of aluminum reduction cell in complex electrolyte system

The electrolyte system of aluminium reduction cell directly affects the process conditions. As impurity elements in alumina are continuously enriched in the cell, the electrolyte system becomes increasingly complex, especially the lithium salt and potassium salt content increase more, which has greater impact on the control for process conditions of the cell. In the current complex electrolyte system, how to arrange the process conditions of aluminum reduction cell to obtain favorable technical indicators has become the focus of research. Based on statistics of process conditions and energy consumption data about the newly-started aluminum reduction cells of one smelter in the last two years, the relationship between process conditions and energy consumption in the complex electrolyte system is analyzed in detail, and the control standard of process conditions under the current complex electrolyte system is put forward.
