Study on the Ratio of Zinc Dialkyldithiophosphate and Nanometer-cerium Oxide in Anhydrous Calcium Grease

The optimum ratio of zinc dialkyldithiophosphate(ZnDDP)and nanometer-cerium oxide(CeO2)tooptimize the tribological properties of anhydrous calcium grease was studied. The regression analysis of tribologicalparameters of anhydrous calcium grease were made by response surface methodology and Design-Expert.V.8.0.5 bsoftware. The response surface and contour line were plotted and the regression equation was established. So theoptimum ratio of zinc dialkyldithiophosphate to nanometer-cerium oxide in anhydrous calcium grease wasdetermined to be 2.17∶2.39. Under this ratio,the last nonseizure load of anhydrous calcium grease increased from392 N to 995 N,which increased 153.8%. The weld load increased from 1070 N to 5037 N,which increased 370.7%.The worn diameter decreased from 0.698 mm to 0.397 mm,which decreased 43.1%. The worn surface roughnessdecreased from 1.588 μm to 0.732 μm which decreased 53.9%. The average friction coefficient decreased from0.099 to 0.061,which decreased 38.4%,and showed a good synergistic effect.(Charts14 Tables4 References11)
