Research of load uncertainty and structural reliability for semi-submersible

The influence on wave load was researched due to uncertainty of wave spectrum style,wave height and load transfer function.The uncertainty of load transfer function was calculated using data of model trial and numerical method.A new method was developed for analyzing the uncertainty of long-term wave loads.The ultimate strength capacity of transversal vertical bending moment was calculated for a semi-submersible by simplified Smith method.Monte Carlo method was used to simulate and analyze statistical parameters and stochastic distribution forms.The statistical parameters was checked by improved Rosenbluth method.Finally,the structural strength reliability of transverse strength to resist bending moment was estimated for one semi-submersible based on design point method.
